Get an idea of what you’re looking for.
Search through listings online and drive around neighborhoods to get an idea of what you’re looking for. I recommend creating a “wants vs. needs” list to get specific about the most important features of your new home.
Get your finances in order and get pre-approved.
It’s very important to have your pre-approval (if getting a mortgage) or proof of funds (if buying in cash) in hand before starting your search. You’ll need to have either of these to accompany your offer. It’s important to have these ahead of time to avoid any unnecessary delays.
Find a good real estate agent.
